Superior National Golf Course
Superior National at Lutsen has been dubbed the most beautiful public golf course in Minnesota 27 holes carved into the Superior National Forest cross the winding Poplar River several times. Not to mention the ever present panoramic Lake Superior views.

Gitchi–Gami State Trail
Although still under construction, the Gitchi Gami state trail is great for a casual bike ride or relaxing stroll. Short sections have been completed and when finished will connect Two Harbors and Grand Marais. About 13 miles of trail has been completed in the Schroeder / Tofte / Lutsen area. Superior National Forest logging roads are another option for the more avid biker.

Superior Hiking Trail
Hike the ancient Sawtooth Mountains of the north shore. This nationally known trail has something for every level of hiker.

Lutsen Mountains
The Sawtooth Mountain Park includes the Alpine Slide, Mountain Tram, Hiking Trails and Voyageur Canoe Tours. Fun for all ages.

Superior National Forest
Explore the seemly endless back roads and trails of the Superior National Forest. Maps can be picked up at the Ranger Station in Tofte or the gas stations in Tofte. Or sit in on one of the Naturalist Programs offered throughout the area. You can also try the hide & seek game of Geocaching. Tofte´s zip code is 55615.

The International Wolf Center and North American Bear Center are located in Ely, MN. It is a bit of a drive at 100 miles from Tofte. But the scenic and curvy highway 1 and the neat town of Ely make it worth a day trip. Just south of Ely a few miles is the Soudan Underground Mine State Park.
